NBA markets reprice constantly, and the single largest driver is rest. Load management means a healthy star can be ruled out hours before tip-off, and a line that looked stable all morning can move several points on one injury report. Prices you see well before tip-off carry real risk of being stale in either direction.
Basketball's scoring volume makes it statistically better behaved than lower-scoring sports - outcomes cluster more tightly around expectation, so totals and spreads are less noisy per game than in hockey or baseball. That also means genuine mispricings tend to be smaller and require more volume to exploit.
